Training of Farmers for Good Agricultural Practices (GAP)

 

Training of farmers for Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) was conducted from 23 Oct 2017 to 25 Oct 2017 by Food Research Division, NARCfinancially supported by Asian Food and Agriculture Cooperation Initiative (AFACI) in the hall of Entomology Division, NARC. Total participants were25 and were the farmer from Kavrepalanchowk, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and Makwanpur. Among them 7 farmers from Kuntabesi, Kavrepalnchowk are involved in GAP group and following the norms of GAP. Dr. Ananta Kumar Gautam (Planning Director, NARC) was invited as chief guest for opening and closing session of the training program. MrRoman Karki (Senior Scientist, Food Research Division), MrPravinOjha(Scientist, Food Research Division), MrUjjwolSubedi (Technical Officer, Food Research Division), MrRoshanBabuOjha(Scientist, Soil Science Division), MrBhimsenChaulagain(Scientist, Agronomy Division), MrSudip Kumar Upadhyaya(Scientist, Entomology Division), MuktinathJha (Technical Officer, Agriculture Engineering Research Division), MrsSharmilaPiya (Senior Technical Officer T-8, Outreach research division), Mr. NabinGopal Pradhan (Senior Technical Officer, Horticulture Research Division) and Mr Dinesh BabuThapaMagar (Scientist, SARPOD) wereresource persons, who conducted three days training. Training materials include GAP principle, GAP requirements, GAP certification and organic farming guidelines etc.
