One week-long rice monitoring tour was organized by National Rice Research Programme (NRRP), Hardinath, Dhanusha to monitor and evaluate the rice genotypes tested across the country. Rice Coordinator Mr. B.N. Chaudhary; Dr. B.N. Mahato, Chief of Plant Pathology Division; Mr. H.K. Upreti, Chief of CPDD; Dr. K.K. Mishra, Chief of Monitoring and Evaluation Division, NARC; Mr. Mahesh Regmi from SQCC; Scientists and Technicians from different commodity programmes, divisions, research stations and private sector seed companies participated in the monitoring tour. Mr. B.N. Chaudhary, Rice Coordinator, NRRP welcomed to all the participants and highlighted the motive and objective of the rice monitoring tour. Senior Scientist Mr. Devnidhi Tiwari highlighted the visit program and evaluation method of tested entries. He has distributed evaluation form to the monitoring team containing CVT and CFFT of upland rice, RLE, RLM, Normal, Fine and aromatic rice trails and multilocation trial of multinational hybrid rice and research varieties. The monitoring team visited the RARS, Tarahara, Sunsari; RARS, Parwanipur, Bara; NWRP Bhairahawa; RARS Khajura, Nepalgunj and NMRP Rampur, Chitwan. During the monitoring tour, Regional Director of Parwanipur Mr. Tufel Akhtar and Coordinator of NMRP Rampur Mr. Govinda KC highlighted the rice research activities carried out in the station.
Monitoring program was concluded with hot distribution and warp-up with suggestion and feed back to the NRRP in NMRP Rampur, Chitwan.
