Food Processing Training


Food processing training was conducted from 14Nov 2017 to 16 Nov 2017 by Food Research Division, NARC. Trainees were small-scale entrepreneurs and farmers. There were altogether 20 trainees, from Makwanpur, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur and Kavre district. In the first day, processing technology of tomato ketchup and tomato puree was provided. In the second day, technology of jam, paneer, biscuit (jackfruit seed powder and wheat flour) and cake (Tartary bitter and wheat flour) making was provided. In the final day, technology of sarbottampitho, chili sauce was delivered. Finally, participants were also made aware of legislative requirements for labeling of food products. The tutors for training program were Mr. Roman Karki (Senior Scientist, S3), Mr. PravinOjha (Scientist, S1) and Mr. UjjwolSubedi (Technical Officer, T6).  In final closing session, former chief, Mr. Mahendra Jung Thapa was invited as chief guest for certificate distribution.
