30th National Summer Crop, 10th National Horticultural Crop and 12th National Livestock and Fisheries Workshop conducted

Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) organized a three National workshop recently in the month of Falgun. 30th National summer crop workshop was held on the date of 25th -27th  Falgun, 2077 at Directorate of Agriculture Research (DoAR), Lumle, Kaski. The workshop was inaugurated by Executive Director of NARC, Dr. Deepak Bhandari and was chaired by Mr.Ram Bahadur KC, Director (Crops and Horticuture). Chief of National Agricultural Engineering Centre, Dr. Shreemat Shrestha welcomed the participants and highlighted the objectives of the workshop. In the workshop 103 oral presentations on the findings of different research were done.  Coordinator of the commodity program presented the report on the achievement of rice, maize, grain legume, oil crops and hill crops.

Similarly two-days 10th National Horticulture Workshop with the theme on ‘Promotion of Horticultural Crop for Nutrition and Immune System was conducted on  the date of 16th -17th Fagun, 2077 at Khumaltar, Lalitpur. The workshop was inaugurated by chief guest Dr. Deepak Bhandari, Executive Director, Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) and the session was chaired by Dr.Ishwori Prasad Gautam, Chief and Principal Scientist, NHRC, Khumaltar. Dr. Surendra Lal Shrestha, Principal Scientist, NHRC welcomed the participants and highlighted the objectives of the workshop. In the workshop 55 oral presentations on the findings of different research were done.

Likewise two-days‘12th National Livestock and Fisheries research workshop was conducted on the date of 19-20 Fagun, 2077 at Rampur, Chitwan. The workshop was inaugurated by chief guest Prof.Dr. Punya Prasad Regmi, vice chancellor of the Agricultural and Forestry University, and the session was chaired by Executive Director of NARC Dr. Deepak Bhandari. Director of Livestock and Fisheries, Dr. Swayam Prakash Shrestha welcomed the participants and highlighted the objectives of the workshop. . In the workshop 51 oral presentations on the findings of different research were done.

In all these workshop, Dr. Deepak Bhandari suggested to develop technology useful to the farmers rather than to focus on the output of the research. Dr. Bhandari focuses on the prioritization of the researchable issues because of the limitation of the resources.
