RATWG held at RARS, Lumle

Regional Agriculture Technical Working Group (RATWG) Meeting was held at Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS), Lumle on 6th Jestha, 2072 (20 June 2015). The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Y.R. Pandey, Executive Director of Nepal Agricultural Research Council by irrigating water to the flower plant in a Gamala. Newly Reseased Crop Varieties

Variety Approval, Release and Registration Committee under National Seed Board that met on 24 May 2015 officially released new varieties of different crops viz. Lime, Wheat, Cauliflower, Finger millet, Buckwheat,  Forage crops and maize along with complete package of practices for farmers to cultivate in different agro-ecological conditions of Nepal. more

The second trimester and eight month progress review meeting of 11 offices in the mid and far western region was organized in the Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS), Khajura, Banke on April 2, 2015 (Chaitra 19, 2071 B.S.). Dr. Pandey Appointed as Executive Director of NARC

Dr Yama Raj Pandey joined Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) as Executive Director. He has been appointed as Executive Director of NARC by the cabinet decision of Government of Nepal on 26 February, 2015 and joined the same post on 2 March, 2015 at the head office NARC, Singhdurbar Plaza, Kathmandu, Nepal.more

National Citrus Working Group Meeting Held

National Citrus Research Program (NCRP), Paripatle, Dhankuta Organized one-day "National Citrus Working Group Meeting (NCWGM)" at Agriculture Research Station (ARS), Pakhribas, Dhankuta on 12th March 2015 (28th Falgun 2071). The NCWGM aimed to rectify future strategies and programs for strengthening citrus research and development activities with an aim to accelerate existing collaboration between research and extension for effective delivery of research outputs to farmers and other stakeholders. The meeting was jointly inaugurated by Dr Samundra Lal Joshi Ex Principal Scientist of Entomology and Mr. Tej Bahadur Subedi, Regional Director of Agriculture, Biratnagar, Morang. The inaugural session was chaired by Dr. Joshi and Mr. Subedi was the chief guest of the occasion. Mr. Tej Bahadur Subedi, Mr. Beda Nanda Chaudhary and Mr. Padam Bahadur Tamang, Vice-President of Central Junar Cooperative Association, Teku, Kathmandu addressed the session giving importance of such program to bridge the gap among stakeholders for achieving anticipated objectives of research and development program in citrus sector. Mr. Manish Thakur, Scientist of NCRP, Paripatle, Dhankuta welcomed the participants and highlighted on objectives of the meeting
