Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) organized a three-day workshop on 31 May-2 June 2022 (17-19 Jestha, 2078) at Directorate of Agricultural Research, Lumle, Kaski. The workshop was inaugurated by chief guest Honorable Mr. Chandra Bahadur Buda, Minister for Agriculture, Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation, Gandaki Province and the session was chaired by Dr.Yug Nath Ghimire, Director (Planning and Coordination), NARC, Dr. Keshab Babu Koirala, Director (Crops and Horticulture), NARC welcomed the participants and highlighted the objectives of the workshop. The objective of the workshop was to present the research work done in winter crops in past two years. In inaugural session, coordinators’ report was presented by the five offices namely National Wheat Research Program, Grain Legumes Research Program, Oilseed Research Program, National Sugarcane Research Program & Hill Crop Research Program by the respective coordinators on wheat, oil crops, grain legumes and hill crops were presented by respective coordinators.
Special Guest Dr. Rewati Raman Paudel, Director General, Department of Agriculture and Dr. Krishna Kumar Mishra, Director (Finance), NARC delivered few word in the workshop. In the inaugural session, chief guest Honorable Mr. Chandra Bahadur Buda, Minister for Agriculture, Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation, Gandaki Province said that there is a need of coordination among the stakeholders of agriculture. He also emphasized on the use of machines and equipments. He also stated that he is ready to help and work with the research teams. The closing remark of the program was given by the chairperson. In three days workshop there were 60 research papers. It was concluded by making recommendations for farmers, extensionists and researchers too.
