Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC), Livestock and Fisheries Research, Khumaltar, Lalitpur conducted 13th National Livestock and Fisheries Research Workshop held at Pakhribas, Dhankuta on 2081 Jeshta 31 and 32 (two days) with the aim of sharing the results and technologies obtained from Livestock and fishery research works in last three years. The Secretary (Agriculture Development), Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development Dr. Deepak Kumar Kharal was the Chief Guest and Director Planning and Coordination NARC Dr. Lumanidhi Pandey was Special guest. In the workshop, 47 researchers working in 8 thematic and research centers under NARC presented the results of livestock technologies that were certified and recommended for farmers. The opening session of the program was chaired by NARC Livestock and Fisheries Research Director Dr. Doj Raj Khanal and Dr. Shishir Bhandari was the master of the ceremony of the program. The Coordinator of National Pasture and Fodder Research Program Dr. Ram Prasad Ghimire welcomed all the participants and talked about the objective of the program, while the program was facilitated by Maheshwar Dahal.
In the event, the head of the National Animal Breeding Office, Pokhara, Dr. Jagdish Pandey, Head of Agriculture Research Centre, Pakhribas, Tirth Rijal, Head of Nepal Livestock Sector Innovation Project (Decentralized Project Support Unit) Dr. Sudhir Singh, Head of REED Dhankuta Indra Narayan Sah, Head of Agriculture Campus Pakhriwas Nirajan Bhandari, Head of VLESC Dhankuta Dr. Loknath Dhungana and heads/coordinators of various research centers and livestock research programs, scientists, technical officers and others were present.
