Domain base fertilizers recommended

Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC), National Soil Science Research Center (NSSRC) organized a press meet on 12 June 2023 to publish the newly recommended fertilizer dose for major cereal crops (Maize, Paddy and Wheat) of Nepal. Based on the soil types and its fertility status in different domains of Nepal, recommendations for high hills, mid hills and terai (Eastern, mid and western terai) for Paddy, Wheat and maize under irrigated and non-irrigated conditions have been published. During the program, Senior Scientist and Chief of NSSRC, Dr. Shree Prasad Vista presented the research results for different domains, methods to use fertilizers and stressed that the results were due to the continuous effort of scientists, technical and other support from Nepal Seed and Fertilizer Project, CYMMIT and Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development (MoALD), Nepal. The program was chaired by Official Executive Director Dr. Doj Raj Khanal with Dr. Bedu Ram Bhusal, Minister, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development (MoALD) as Chief Guest and Secretaries, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development (MoALD) Dr. Govinda Sharma and Dr. Deepak Kumar Kharal as special guest.  During the program, Minister Dr. Bedu Ram Bhusal stressed that whatever the recommendations made by research should be in the access of end users i.e. farmers or entrepreneurs to achieve the projected growth in agriculture. Both the secretaries also emphasized that the judicious use of recommended fertilizers for different domains.
