National Agricultural engineering Research Centre (NAERC), Khumaltar organized a two-day training program on “Multi Spectral Drone Operation Training” for the NARC Agricultural Engineers at Agricultural Machinery Testing and Research Centre (AMTRC), Nawalpur Sarlahi on 1st & 2nd Jestha, 2081. Hon. Minister Ms. Jwala Kumari Sah, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development (MoALD), inaugurated the training by flying a multispectral drone in the research farm. During this program, the Honorable Minister also visiting the testing laboratory and facilities at AMTRC. Chief of AMTRC briefed about the importance of agricultural machinery testing and need of support from MoALD for the approval of agricultural machinery testing procedure from the cabinet for the full function of AMTRC. Dr. Shreemat Shrestha, Chief of NAERC explained the importance of agricultural engineering research for agriculture development in Nepal and briefed about the prospects of multispectral drone image capturing and analysis in agricultural research. Similarly, he also requested the Hon. Minister to take lead in the restructuring and institutional development of NARC to transform into a dynamic and professional research organization to make strong contribution in the food security and commercialization of agriculture in Nepal. Minister Sah addressed in the inaugural program and provided directives to the training participants and AMTRC staffs. She also appreciated the efforts made by NARC and engineering research with limited human resource and facilities for their contribution for the food security and commercialization of Nepalese Agriculture.
